FILOMENA MENDOZA It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Filomena "Nene" Mendoza but known to many as "Nanay". With her family by her side, on Saturday, February 1, 2014, Nene Mendoza, at the age of 88, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Avelino Mendoza. She will be sadly missed by her children Leonila Sordan (predeceased by Renato) and Alejandro Mendoza (Zeny) from the Philippines, Reynaldo Mendoza (Maring), Lauro Mendoza (Luming), Jocelyn Javate (Celso) all from Winnipeg and Elvira Siamaki (Frank) from Edmonton, grandchildren Joel (Debbie) of Calgary, Raymond, Andrew (Sheryl), Junior (Binky), Alex (Jaro), and Aloy (Regine) all from the Philippines, Debbie (Mike), Dennis (Loni), Derick, Bennet and Mitchell all from Winnipeg, Angelus (Angela), Ashcan, Yousef and Nancy all from Edmonton, and her great-grandchildren Bella and Ava from Calgary, Abigail, Meghan, Sophie and Lily of Winnipeg, Ariel from Edmonton, Neil, Jeremy, Joaquin, Maria and Sarah of the Philippines. Lamay will take place on Friday, February 7, between the time of 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. with prayers being said at 8:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park", 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 254 Arnold Ave. with Reverend Father Wayne Morrisey. Interment to follow in the Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. Reception to follow at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Reny Hipolito, Danny Trias, Robert Trinidad, Eddie Urrutia, Rey Perez, Vic Pagsuyuin, Danilo Ilarde Sr. and Tony Macapagal. The family wishes to express their appreciation to her home care staff, her doctor Dr. Bahrami, and the medical staff at the St. Boniface Hospital.
