INA PHYLIS PATTERSON
Date of Passing: Jan 29, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINA PHYLIS PATTERSON (nee ANDERSON) 1926 - 2014 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mother on January 29, at the age of 87. She will be sadly missed by her four children, Warren (Linda), Jill (Terry) Allard, Coleen (Guy) Dufault, Pam (Allan) McCaffrey, as well as her grandchildren Diana (Werner), Derek, Dan, Tom, Mindy, Mikey and great-grandchild Ryan. Ina is survived by her sister Grace Laible and sister-in-law Cathy Patterson, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Warren "Tim" in 2004, her parents Arne Otto and Signe Anderson, and siblings Clifford, Mildred, Bertle, Wilma, Olga, Ralph and Donald. Mom was born to Swedish immigrants in Bangor, Saskatchewan. Her family later moved to a farm in Bicton Heath, Manitoba, where she spent much of her childhood. The Anderson family, rich in humour and musical talent, remained very close throughout the years. As a young woman, she left the farm and moved to Sifton, Manitoba before settling in Winnipeg where she met and married our Dad on July 3, 1948. Throughout the years, Mom worked part-time at Eaton's and J.A. Keddy, however, spending most of her time as a homemaker. Some of her favourite pastimes were watching sports, knitting and card games. Mom was a fabulous cook and baked the best blueberry pie. Over the years, she looked forward to our family gatherings, the Anderson reunions, laughing at a good joke, as well as spending time at the Patterson cabin at Ingolf, Ontario. The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Riverwood Square, Victoria General Hospital and Golden Links Lodge for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Victoria General Hospital. A private service will be held at a later date.
