TILLY GOLKO Peacefully on February 6, 2014, Mrs. Tilly Golko, aged 95 years of Arnes, MB passed away at the Gimli Community Health Centre. Tilly was born on November 18, 1918 to Harry and Victoria Woroby. She lost her mother when she was only two weeks old. She was predeceased by her parents and also her husband Paul. Tilly and Paul were married on July 13, 1946 and lived on the family farm until Paul passed away in 1990 and she remained on the farm until her passing. Tilly leaves to cherish her memory her son Ken and daughter-in-law Jean. She also leaves her precious grandchildren Tammy (Steve) and Melanie as well as her precious great-granddaughter Cyera. Mom was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Arnes, MB. She enjoyed going to church and attended many prazniks. Mom had a long and full life. She enjoyed going to the Adult Day Program in Arborg where she made many friends. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and she also enjoyed a good game of Canasta. Mom loved having company. Her home was always open to family and friends. She will be greatly missed not only by her family but by her many friends. Special thanks to the staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre for the care mom received during her short stay. Also a special thanks to Tony and Jocelyn, Stan and Edna, Minnie and the home care workers for all your help with mom. We are forever grateful. Prayers will be said on Monday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church with Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. Interment will follow in the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Arnes. Pallbearers will be Greg Golko, Paul Stimpson, Roger Furgala, Bob Wiwchar, David Leftko and Tony Hayka.
