Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTIN MARINCIL Peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2014 Martin Marincil passed away at Middle Church Nursing Home at the age of 88 years. Martin leaves behind his beloved wife Nada of 55 years, his daughters Zdenka (Zeljko), Jeannie (Igor), grandchildren; Anthony, Annie, Amanda, Adam, Andrew, Anton and Adrian, his brother Stipe, sisters Ruzica and Mandica in Croatia, his nephews Peter (Josephine), Marijan (Christine), Joe (Marina), sister-in-law Anka Marinic, nephews Ivica, Jack (Joanne), niece Kathy (Walter) and numerous nephews and nieces throughout Canada, the U.S.A. and Croatia. Martin was predeceased by his son Zdravko, brothers Joso, Ivan and brother-in-law Lovro Marinic. Martin was born in Kuterevo, Lika, Croatia September 10, 1925 to parents Jerko and Maria. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 working throughout Ontario in various labour intensive jobs, until he settled in Winnipeg in 1958. Here Martin worked with a number of companies before landing a job with Major Quilting until his retirement. He was a proud member of the Croatian community in Winnipeg and a devout member of St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Catholic Parish, since its founding. He could always be found before mass, having come early to greet his fellow parishioners. Martin had quite the green thumb, and was passionate about gardening with his wife Nada. If he wasn't in his garden you could find Martin in the garage with a glass of his homemade wine either working on his car, listening to his favourite music, playing cards or socializing with friends. Not a day passed where his car didn't shine, and a neighbour wasn't greeted with a cheerful hello. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all relatives, friends, the staff and doctors of Middlechurch Nursing Home for their support, care and compassion. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. with vigil for the deceased at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13 at St. Nicholas Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street with Father Robert Polz presiding. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are: Anthony Bmjas, Adam Lulic, Andrew Lulic, Peter Marincil, Marijan Marincil, Joe Marincil, Ivica Marinic and Joe Bmjas. Our thoughts are with you, your place no one can fill, in life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. Pocivaj u Miru Bozijem. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044

Please accept our deepest sympathy in this time of sorrow. My father, your father and Mr. Vukovic played guitar together and they'd come over to our house to jam. As kids we have fond memories of your dad giving us money and telling us to buy something for ourselves. His kindness left a lasting memory. Our thoughts are with you. My sincerest and deepest condolences to all family members. I will always remember Mr. Marincil in the later years, sitting on his lawn chair by the garage, smiling and waving a cheery " Hello, come on over" how could anyone resist that invitation ? And earlier in my life, he was such a prominent member of the Croatian Church and community, a person to be looked up to and respected. To Nada, Zdenka, Jeannie, and families, my heart breaks for your loss. He is now resting in peace in the arms of Jesus. - Posted by: MaryAnn Kokan-Nyhof (Friend of the family ) on: Feb 13, 2014

We met Martin almost 20 years ago while we were building our house on Chernichan. Martin walked up to the house to help. He brought his hammer, tool belt and his own nails and introduced himself. Before long we were invited to his home and shared a glass of wine. This was to become a tradition over the years. We would go over and enjoy a cup of Turkish coffee and a glass of wine and always some great food. We even learnt to play a Croatian card game and had loads of fun. We have never had a better neighbour and along with Nada, shared many wonderful evenings talking about their early days in Croatia, their families and and life in general. He will be in our hearts forever. Our sincere condolences to Nada, Jeannie, Zdenka and families. - Posted by: Glen and Nicole McCrank (Neighbours and friends) on: Feb 12, 2014

Mrs. Marincil and family, accept our heartfelt condolences and prayers. We know that "Mr. Martin" is looking for his family and friends that passed on before him, and I could hear his voice saying "Hello how are you" just as he would always greet us whenever we would meet in "Family Fare" or any where else. He will always remain in our memories as a classy gentleman. - Posted by: Grace and Dusan Drazic (friends) on: Feb 12, 2014
