MICHAEL ALLAN HNATIUK Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Michael passed away at his residence on February 10, 2014 at the age of 61. Left to cherish his memory are Darlene, Mike Jr., Maryanne and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael worked in the IT field for over 30 years. He worked at Canada Packers (25 years) then at Investors Group and ADP. When he had enough of computers he switched occupations. He enjoyed working at Saputo's, Canada Post and Part Source. Michael was an avid sports fan. As a child he spent most of his time in the winter playing hockey and skating. Hockey Night in Canada was a weekly ritual for him and dad. Michael was thrilled when Mike Jr. was born. He took great pride in his son's dancing accomplishments. At concert or competitions Michael could be heard saying "that's my boy". After finding Darlene, Michael's life was happy and content. They enjoyed shopping, eating out, family gatherings, concerts and socializing with friends and family. Darlene was exceptional during Michael's illness. She provided him with an unconditional amount of care, love and support. She rarely left his side the entire time. The family would like to thank Phyllis, John and Ray for the support and friendship they have provided to Michael and Darlene especially over these last few difficult months. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment at Glen Eden will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Vichnaya Pam'Yat Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044
