Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE DOROTHEA MCLEAN (nee RUSKIN) June 1, 1920 February 7, 2014 Peacefully, on Friday, February 7, 2014, Joyce McLean passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge. Joyce will be sadly missed by her daughters, Lynn (Brian) Pascoe and Effie (Bert) Hall and daughter-in-law Gill. Joyce has six grandchildren, David, Christopher, Dodi, Jennifer, Lynn and Kate. One of her greatest pleasures was telling people "I have ten great-grandchildren". She was predeceased by her husband Alex; and her son Sandy. Joyce was a very dedicated volunteer. Mom retired from Fred Douglas Personal Care Home, but continued working there as a volunteer. She got great pleasure in helping the residents. I would like to say a special "thank-you" to her buddy and great friend "Rose". No formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Rest in Peace, Mom We love you. Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044

I was sad to hear this weekend of the passing of Joyce. She was a very spirited lady who firmly believed that there was a certain way to do things. An organization could not ask for a more dedicated volunteer who was the passionate guardian angel for so many residents. My condolences to her daughter Lynn. - Posted by: Maggie Nishimura (employee at Fred Douglas Society ) on: Mar 30, 2014

Our most heartfelt condolences on the loss of your most wonderful "Mother Joyce". Joyce had a special place in all our hearts. She was a wonderful person and we will truly miss her. We are all so grateful that she always watched out for our Mom (Harriet Chartrand) and took the time to sit and chat with us for "awhile"! May she rest in peace. We loved her as did our Mom! - Posted by: Margaret Thorsteinson (Friend) on: Mar 06, 2014

I worked with Joyce at Fred Douglas Lodge, she was the most dedicated volunteer I have met during all of my years as a volunteer manager. She never knew the word no or I can't. She was there for the residents and did all she could for them, it was her passion. If something needed to be done she was the first one to get the ball rolling. She was a very special person and I am grateful I was able to work along side of her for I learned so much. To the family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Gwen Breland (Past Volunteer Manager (Fred Douglas Lodge)) on: Feb 16, 2014
