I remember your influence on your family, as Trevor and I would go watch hockey and ice capades at the arena in Thompson. Trevor also coached me on how to bat a ball and that was the only time I ever had any luck at baseball. I have warm memories of you and your family in Thompson. May you rest in peace and thanks for the wonderful memories of Thompson. Hey, Trevor, what about that Junior hockey game 2 days ago - Gold is great. I'm so very sorry for your loss. George was really very kind to me when I first started working with him at Manitoba Hydro in 1991. He was our display 'guy' and he could always be counted on to arrive on time at the location and set up the display. Taking it down was often another matter, particularly if colleagues Jack and Roy were thinking of fishing! Sincerely, Rennie Bodi - Posted by: Rennie Bodi (Manitoba Hydro colleague) on: Feb 24, 2014

Sad news, I believe there are now two new souls that are remembering times on hockey trips, in hockey arenas....of days with family in a new community, in a new part of Manitoba. Your husband, dad....grand dad touched many people in a positive way. Thinking of all of you....sympathies are with you. - Posted by: Mark Crockett (Friend of the Family) on: Feb 21, 2014

I had the privilege of working with George on the Transcona Community Centers Board which recommended to City Council - the building of the Roland Mitchener Arena. George had a special skill in turning a conversation in the appropriate direction. Farewell my friend, and God bless. - Posted by: GEORGE MARSHALL (Friend) on: Feb 20, 2014
