NANCY (CHARLIE) DESJARLAIS (nee WINBERG) June 14, 1951- February 17, 2014 On Monday, February 17, 2014 Charlie lost her battle with Cancer, she passed away at home, with her family by her side, at the age of 62 years. Nancy was predeceased by her parents Peggy and George Winberg. Her memories are forever with Larry, her husband of 30 years, beloved mother of sons Mark (Melissa) and Michael (Alison), loving grandmother of Matthew, Malerie, Mia and Colt, and is survived by siblings, Joan (Doug), Gerald (Shirley), Peggy, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In life, Charlie enjoyed travelling with Larry, whether it was business or pleasure, she also enjoyed reading and especially spending time with her beautiful grandchildren. Nancy was a very loving wife and mother always putting everyone else's needs before her own. Many fond memories were made for each of us to treasure in our hearts. Always loved, loved always. Dearest Charlie, Mom and Nanny, how we'll miss you. The family wishes to thank Shirley, Joan and Peggy - without them Charlie's wish to pass away at home would probably not have been possible. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Nancy to the Salvation Army. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 204-224-1525

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • Sitting here still can't believe you are gone. Everything happened so fast it still feels like a bad dream. Matthew turned 18 yesterday and it was so hard not having you here with us. He recalls how you and papa called him every year on his birthday to sing to him, we all miss you so much and think of you everyday. Life will not ever be the same. You are in our thoughts everyday and we love and miss you so much. We have lost an amazing mother and even more amazing grandmother, words will never describe how great of a loving mom and nanny you were to us, and the kids. Rest in peace xoxo - Posted by: Melissa (Daughter in law) on: Feb 24, 2014

  • I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Nancy as we lived just a few houses apart on Alexander Ave.(1464) to be exact. We used to play in our back yard on a swing set we had back there. When I would go over to Nancy's house Peggy would want me to bring my sister Dorothy. We had good times back then and I only saw Nancy once after we moved away.I have a few pictures of us together. Again on behalf of the Eldridge family our prayers are with you. - Posted by: Winnifred, Marie, Kerry, Dorothy Eldridge (Friends) on: Feb 23, 2014
