• Just wanted to say how extremely sorry I was to hear of Uncle Bernie passing. Although I didn't spend a great deal of time with Uncle Bern, I know that at all of the past family functions he was a really great guy and I always enjoyed his company...what I remember most are the times when I would travel to Winnipeg to play hockey, it seemed that he was always there to watch, to go out for a bite to eat, to drive for a visit with Gram and Gramp Schilke, and he always was very happy and giving and joyful about everything...especially my Grandpa..and that's something! I am sure that Aunt Denise, Chris and Jeffery, Uncle Don and Auntie Margaret are missing him and healing, but wanted to make sure that although we are far away, you know we have been thinking of you lots in our thoughts and prayers.... • Last few months I was writing a short history of my growing up in Brooklands. I had some school pics and like many people, did not put names on the back of them. • I was deeply saddened to hear of Bernie's passing. We worked together at Sears in the sixties and I remember him as being cheerful and pleasant, always taking the time to say "hello" to his co-workers. • Too young. We grew up together and attended the same school, worked together at Sears. He was part of the gang that hung out together where he grew up.
