ROBERT (BOB) ALLAN LYLE Bob passed away suddenly at the Victoria General Hospital on February 27, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, daughter Samantha and son Alex. Bob is also survived by his loving parents Larry and Doreen Lyle, one sister Joanne (Rick) Dingwall, three brothers Rick (Cookie) Lyle, Doug (Patti) Lyle and Michael (Melanie), brothers-in-law Tom Maxwell, Terry (Brenda) Maxwell and sister-in-law Marilyn (Jacques) Sabourin and many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his in-laws Bernie and Florence Maxwell and his grandparents Edwin and Mae Lyle, and Yves and Therese Rocan. Bob was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on June 22, 1963 and grew up mostly in Fort Garry. Bob attended Pembina Crest School, Vincent Massey Collegiate and Red River College. Bob had various jobs over the years, including working at Coldstream, Revenue Canada and was currently employed with The Canadian Border Services Agency. Over the years, in school and at work, Bob made a lot of friends who also mourn his passing. Everyone meant a great deal to Bob, but none more than his children, who he was very proud of. Bob was taken from us way to soon and though we are finding it very hard to understand and process, we will always cherish our memories of him. Hug your kids and tell them you love them every day! A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Thompson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation: 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or a charity of one's choice. • My heartfelt condolences Barb, Samantha, Alex and the rest of the family. Bob is a very dear friend to me. We started together when Canada Border Services started 10 years ago. We are one of the pioneer employees of this department. Bob speaks fondly of your family and takes pride in his children, Samantha and Alex. Barb, you and his children are the source of his happiness and inspiration. We always compare notes about our children as I have a daughter and a son too. Bob is a man of big heart. He never takes anybody for granted. He is always there when we need him. He delights in his work and perfoms his duties to the most of his abilities. As with your family, we are filled with grief and sadness with his sudden death. But I pray that you will find comfort and strength from the outpouring of prayers and love and with the thoughts that Bob is now in a better place with the Lord. - Posted by: Oliva Padpad (co-worker) on: Mar 05, 2014

  • Gone way t oo soon. I saw Bob almost every day, but never really knew him well, as we were both busy, and our jobs seldom intersected. However, I do miss the cheery `Mornin` Paul!!` that I always got from him without fail on his arrival at our office. As he left each morning, we all heard `Have a great day everybody!`. Bob`s work was appreciated, as was the fact that he was a genuinely NICE man. He will be missed, and my and my family`s thoughts and prayers go out to Bob`s family, that they find the strength to get through this together. Rest in Peace, Bob. - Posted by: Paul Van Horne (Colleague at CBSA) on: Mar 03, 2014

  • Bob was my grandson. He was a kind, gentle man who loved his family and doted on them. Shy, yet friendly. You could count on a smile from Bob anytime you met him. I never heard him say anything negative about anyone. He was always willing to help people. He was humble though and did not seek glory. He wanted to please people from as far back as I remember. I will miss his smile and good nature as will many people. Two of my children worked with Bob and apparently he was the same at work. Soft spoken, joking and kind. He has gone way too soon. - Posted by: Anita and Ron Perron (Aunt and uncle) on: Mar 02, 2014
