Condolences & Memories (32 entries)

  • I have known Tecla in a professional capacity for several years. Her warm smile, kind eyes and compassionate nature won over everyone that was blessed to meet her. Over the years, our professional relationship became a friendship that I will always treasure. Tecla was such an amazing person, a wonderful friend and the kind of colleague / community partner that made coming into the office something to look forward to. Tecla will be remembered, missed and thought of with a smile always. My deepest condolences to Tecla's family, friends and loved ones. - Posted by: Katherine Nelson (Community Partner and Friend) on: Mar 12, 2014

  • Dear Family of Tecla my sincere and deepest condolences on the loss of your Special sister and Special Aunt. I only knew Tecla from being friends of the family. I was out of town and got back on March 9th and heard of the terrible news, my heart was heavy that night and I could not sleep thinking of the sudden loss. My prayers goes to all of the Transi Family - Posted by: Maria Tucci (Friend of the family) on: Mar 09, 2014

  • It is hard to believe that you are no longer with us my friend. I know that you have moved on to a better place, having left your fingerprint on our world, which will remind us of the positive impact you have had on so many lives. We met at Red River Community College some 39 years ago and our group of 5 women have remained in touch over all of these years. Despite Tecla's health issues, she never complained, only wanted assurance that we were all doing well. I will always remember Tecla's caring attitude, her smile and laugh. Rest in peace Tecla! - Posted by: Wendy Borody (Friend) on: Mar 09, 2014

  • I will always cherish the memories I have of Tecla and the time we shared. She was a very kind and loving person. Tecla was always smiling, happy to see you and interested in what was going on in your world; she never complained about her own problems. Tecla, I know you have gone straight to Heaven because you earned your wings here on earth. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Louisa Newlands (Friend ) on: Mar 08, 2014

  • Tecla always had a warm smile and a kind word for everyone. You will be missed. Rest in peace, my friend. - Posted by: Donna Guderyan (Co-worker) on: Mar 07, 2014

  • When I was attending Red River College taking Secretary science I was having a difficult time making friends until one day a group of girls welcomed me into their midst and offered me their friendship. Tecla was one of those girls and as a group we had lots of laughter and good times as we worked our way through college. Our "group" friendship has always remained intact. When Tecla's illness first emerged and our group felt sad, what we saw from her was a quiet strength and dignity. We never heard her complain or feel sorry for herself. TECLA's quiet humour, her contagious laugh and her beautiful smile will always be my favorite memories of her. I am sorry I cannot attend her service but my thoughts will be there. Rest in peace Tecla. Susan Stobart - Posted by: Susan stobart (friend) on: Mar 07, 2014

  • Dear Family of Tecla: My sincere and deep condolences on the loss of Tecla. As her next-door neighbour from 1993-2009, I can state that Tecla was the best neighbour one could have. She was kind, caring and a very considerate neighbour and friend. Mike and I often wondered how she managed to work full-time with her illness but never did she express a complaint. At Christmas, we exchanged gifts and she always gave us so much stuff - for both of my kids - and us including Italian treats and chocolates. My children, Alana and David, are also sad to hear of Tecla's passing. She will be remembered for the kind and wonderful person she was - your family was blessed to have her and everyone who knew her was blessed to know her. - Posted by: Lori Webb (Neighbour/Friend) on: Mar 06, 2014

  • I am extremely saddened to hear of Tecla's sudden passing. I, too, had the pleasure of knowing Tecla through work for more than 30 years. Everything that is being written about her from her colleagues is so true. Tecla was one of the nicest persons I have ever known and always had a smile and kind word to say to everyone. My deepest condolences to her family and close friends. The world has lost a very special person. Rest in peace, dear Tec! - Posted by: Marcia Ewatski (Co-worker) on: Mar 05, 2014

  • My sincere condolences and prayers for the Transi family. I had the pleasure of knowing Tecla for over a decade when she taught me to do my volunteer position with the courts. When I had my first daughter Tecla was amazing and kindness personified. Ally still has Winnie the Pooh on her bed 10 years later. She was taken too soon but now can live without illness. We love you Tecla. - Posted by: Teresa Letwin (friend/ex volunteer) on: Mar 05, 2014

  • We miss you so deeply Tec. I saw a white feather yesterday as I was walking out of work and smiled to know you are still with us. - Posted by: VWA (co-worker) on: Mar 05, 2014

  • I am shocked and very saddened to hear of Tecla's death. In all the years I worked with her I never heard her complain once about her illness even though everyone in the office knew that she was not well. She was a hard worker and always gave it her best. She missed very little work due to illness. Tecla was the first one to ask you how you were feeling when you returned to work after being sick. She was always so friendly and I thought of her as being very strong and brave. I recall talking to her one day about her dialysis and her overall response was "it is no big deal, it is what you have to do". I know I could never be that matter of fact if it were my situation. I know that everyone who ever knew Tecla is walking around with a very sad heart. My sincere sympathy to all of you, her entire family. - Posted by: Noreen Ryan (co-worker) on: Mar 05, 2014

  • We are very saddened by this sudden and devastating news. Tecla was such an amazing, warm, and caring person. As our sister Sandra indicated, she was there for our family when our mother passed away. She always kept in contact with us and always had an open door whenever we needed it. There are few people in this world that gave so selflessly and were as genuine as she was. She kept a brave and cheerful demeanour in the face of adversity, and she rarely complained. Her tenacity and inner strength will certainly be remembered. Tecla, we never did get a chance to say goodbye. We love and miss you! Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. Condoglianze dalla famiglia Di Curzio! Riposa in pace. - Posted by: Loreta & Dom Di Curzio (Family friend) on: Mar 05, 2014

  • I am so saddened to hear of Tecla's passing. I feel very blessed to have known her. My deepest sympathies to her family. - Posted by: Penny Malinowski (co-worker) on: Mar 04, 2014

  • Tecla was a lovely person to work with. She cared about the people she worked with and for. I could always count on a huge smile and a few friendly words or a compliment when I walked into her office. She was the bright spot in many days. - Posted by: Breta Passler (Colleague) on: Mar 04, 2014

  • My heart is very heavy from hearing this news--Tecla was an amazing person and I feel so blessed to have known her and to have spent good and bad times with her. She was there when my mother passed away, during the hardest time in my family's lives. She was selfless and gave to me and my family without a second thought. She was so good to my two daughters and my step-daughter, treating her exactly the way she treated my entire family. She was the epitome of kindness and selflessness and I will never forget the impact she made on my life, and that of my family. We lost a true gem. May you rest in peace my dear dear friend. Sending deepest condolences to all of her family and friends... - Posted by: Sandra Di Curzio (Family friend and co-worker) on: Mar 04, 2014

  • Although we never had an opportunity to meet in person due to distance and circumstances, our working friendship stretched over 30 years. Tecla was always a very genuine and generous person who would find joy in everything and everyone. She had a great zest for, almost a gleeful challenge in reducing large, complex issues quickly and almost effortlessly. You could feel the joy radiating from her and she always had a way of making her smile happily infectious and soon you were smiling and chatting happily along with her with all business cared for. Recently I was most fortunate to speak with Tecla regarding her involvement with retirement planning for a Winnipeg colleague we both worked with many years ago and we had an opportunity to catch up. I am so very thankful for her friendship which greatly and joyously enriched my life. You will be truly missed my dear, dear Friend. - Posted by: Sue Madrigga (Friend & Colleague) on: Mar 04, 2014

  • So sad to hear you've left us, Tecla! I will never forget your caring heart and compassion. I don't think I ever passed you in the hallway or on the street without you going out of your just to come and ask how I was doing! Thank you for caring. Rest in Peace, my friend! - Posted by: Tara (co-worker/friend) on: Mar 04, 2014
