GERALD HOWARD BELL August 24, 1946 - March 3, 2014 On March 3, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre after a long courageous battle with diabetic complications, and his family by his side, Gerald found peace. Gerald is predeceased by his father George and his mother Myrtle "Molly." He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, friend and companion of 52 years, Marcia (nee Altomare), also left to mourn his passing are his sons Ryan (Shannon), and Jason, and his grandchildren Veronica, Tayler, Mya and Tessa-Rose. His four beautiful granddaughters were the love of his life and they brought him so much joy and happiness. He is also survived by his sister Jean, his brothers Keith (Pat), George (Bonnie), Michael (Chris), and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all the staff in the Renal Department of Health Sciences Centre, especially Dr. Lisa Miller for all of the excellent care. Thank you for giving us eight more years with him. Thanks also for all the love and support we've received from our family, friends and extended family at St. Michael's Villa. Ger was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by many family members and friends. A Celebration of Gerald's life will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street in Transcona. Interment will take place at Transcona Cemetery, 1054 Dugald Rd. with a luncheon to follow at the Transcona Legion, 117 Regent Ave. East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's name to the Kidney Foundation. "Love you, Go with God."
