VINCENT LAURENT JOSEPH HOGUE
Born: Apr 16, 1965
Date of Passing: Feb 26, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVINCENT LAURENT JOSEPH HOGUE It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Vincent, at the age of 48, on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Vincent leaves behind to mourn his parents Doris and Noël Hogue, siblings Mona Hardie (Christopher), Patrice Hogue (Laura), Giles Hogue, Bernadette Burzynski (Henry), Sylvio Hogue (Juliana), along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Vincent (Vinnie) was born in St. Boniface and raised on the family farm in Ile-des-Chênes, Manitoba. He graduated from Collège Louis-Riel in St. Boniface where he developed an interest in mathematics and science. Vincent led an industrious life including grain farming with his family and although he never took a vacation, he did have the opportunity to travel throughout North America during his time as a trucker. Vinnie's great strength was put to good use as a construction worker and mover. He grew up enjoying a variety of activities ranging from hunting and archery to just kicking back, reading a good book or listening to music, especially Pink Floyd. Vincent enjoyed playing and teasing with his fourteen nieces and nephews, they will dearly miss their Oncle Vinnie. He was always willing to use his talents and gifts to help others in need. His witty sense of humor was always preceded by a mischievous and infectious smile. All those who knew Vinnie would agree, he was a great guy. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m., at the Villa Youville Chapelle du Pavillion, 208 Avenue Centrale, Ste. Anne, Manitoba. Due to the limited seating available, it is strongly encouraged that only close family and friends attend. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. I remember growing up down the road from the Hogue farm. The family picnics, the old cars, the farming activity. Vincent had a kind and just heart, defending the "lee popular" kids growing up. We wish him peace now that he is at rest. Our condolences to the Hogue family. - Posted by: Ron, Dan and Corinne Mondor (Cousins) on: Mar 26, 2014

Vinnie was not only my cousin but a very dear friend. No matter if I needed help moving or just needed someone to talk to he was always there. He was so generous and was more than enthusiastic to be part of our wedding party all those years ago. He had a heart of gold! As we got older we saw less of each other but I never thought our time would run out. My heart aches to hear his laugh for just one more time. Victor and I want to send our deepest sympathies to my Aunt Doris and Uncle Noel and his fantastic siblings; Mona, Patrice, Gilles, Bernadette and Sylvio and their spouses. He was a wonderful uncle and we would like to extend our condolences to his nieces and nephews. I love my cousins like they are my own siblings and I am thinking about all the "Mondor cousins" during this very sad time. - Posted by: Jo-Anne and Victor (Cousins and friends) on: Mar 19, 2014

Vincent and I dated for a while back in the early 1990s and when that didn't work out, we were able to build a friendship that would last for that past 25 years. He was a guy who loved to laugh and who would always help out a friend in need. He managed to find humour in the worst of situations and could be counted on to sit and talk things out and find a way to make life's burdens feel a little lighter. His kindness, humour and generosity will be missed. He was an excellent Backgammon player, he enjoyed alternative music like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and was always up to socialize and share stories. My condolences to his family and friends who are mourning his loss today. - Posted by: Deb Lorteau (Friend) on: Mar 16, 2014

I went to high school with Vince at Ecole Secondaire de Saint-Boniface (which later moved to College Louis Riel). I remember going with Vince over our lunch hour I believe it was in grade 11,to Provencher Billiards to play tetris, a video game which was very popular at the time. Vince loved that game and always beat me as I could never get the score he would get. After playing for a while we briskly made our way back to school, I remember that we would even run back to school as we had overstayed playing tetris. He was a lot of fun to be with. It was a fun time, times were simpler I look forward in seeing the more detailed obituary. My deep condolences to his family - Posted by: paul fitch- trudeau (high school classmate) on: Mar 13, 2014
