Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE DRYSTEK June 28, 1924 - March 3, 2014 It is with sadness, but peace, that we announce the passing of Anne, beloved sister and aunt. Anne was born in Elkhorn, Manitoba then travelled to Winnipeg in 1924. She is survived by her brother Andy (Laurianne). Anne was predeceased by parents Frank and Hafia; sisters Nellie, Mary and Katherine (Met); and brothers John (Marie), Michael (Rae) and Joseph. Anne attended Lord Nelson and then King Edward Schools. She started working when she was 18 years old, at Eaton's mail order and then The Warehouse, until she retired. She was known for her meticulous detail, punctuality and never missing a day from work. In her earlier years, she enjoyed travelling to Woodbine, New Jersey; Los Angeles, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and various parts of Canada. She enjoyed her small house in the North End and took pride in keeping it neat and tidy. She enjoyed staying home and working on her many small projects. She was a talented sewer, often creating her own clothing designs. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing needlepoint. She was a very good cook and outstanding baker. The family will always remembers the delicious cakes, muffins, and cookies that she would share. Anne emulated the generation that enjoyed the simply things, was frugal and did things themselves. She was very active and had a fantastic memory of past details until this last year or so of her life. She will be truly missed! We would like to thank the staff at the Poseidon Care Home for their care of Anne. As per her wishes, there will be no service. A small family get together will be held to celebrate Anne's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations could be sent to CancerCare Manitoba 204-787-2197.
