DONALD MICHAEL GERAS ZACHARKO March 16, 1946 - March 7, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Don at the age of 67 years. He leaves to mourn his Auntie Addie and numerous other relatives in Winnipeg, Calgary and the United States. Don was predeceased by father Michael in 1979 and mother Angela in 2010. He was a loving and devoted son. He was a graduate of Sisler High School and received a Civil Engineering Degree from the Manitoba Institute of Technology. He then went on to work for Versatile Industries. Don enjoyed travelling and often spoke, with fond memories, of trips to Trout Lake. We are fortunate to have shared many family dinners, holidays, and celebrations with him over the years. We wish to thank family and friends who have offered so much support at this difficult time. In accordance with Don's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment and a graveside service will be held, and announced, at a later date. Donations may be made in Don's memory to a charity of your choice. The bond that makes your family is not of blood. But of respect and love of each other's life. We will miss you Don God Bless CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was saddened to hear about my cousin Don's passing away. We grew up together in our younger years. After moving to the United States 30 years ago, Don and I would phone each other through out the year especially on our birthdays since they were just 2 days apart. Don will be missed. - Posted by: William (Bill) Zacharko (Cousin ) on: Apr 23, 2014

  • I have known Don my whole life. What a kind and gentle soul with a huge heart. The neighborhood will never be the same without that smiling face to greet you. Don will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Sharon Melnychuk (Neighbour and Friend ) on: Mar 19, 2014

  • I meet Don when I attended Sisler High in Grade 8. We were friends until I left Sisler after Grade 11. We had a chance to chat at the school reunion in 1997. Don always had a smile....which I see in the picture attached to his obituary. I am certain that he is missed by many friends and family. - Posted by: Lorraine DeGrave (School Friend) on: Mar 15, 2014
