Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENISE MARIE LANGHAN Peacefully on March 21, 2014, with her family by her side, our dear mother Denise Marie Langhan passed away at Actionmarguerite at the age of 95 years. Left to remember mom are her children, Paul, Allan (Deborah), Gerard (Carmel), her brother Marcel (Florence) of Chino, California, her sister Dolorosa of Winnipeg, daughters-in-law Irene and Debbie and numerous grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband E.J. in 2001, and two sons, Marcel in 2002 and Michel (Mike) in 2009 and daughter-in-law Mary in 2011. Born in St. Pierre, Manitoba on September 6, 1918 to Philias and Dolorosa Valois; mom lost her mother at the age of seven and with six siblings to help care for, she learned very early the meaning of responsibility and hard work. These early lessons developed in her a care and nurturing attitude and a fiercely independent character that remained throughout her life. Mom obtained her teaching permit and set off to teach in Northern Manitoba while raising two young boys. Raising a family of five boys altered her career to substitute teacher, telephone operator and clerk. Above all she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Isaie Blanchette at St-Martyrs-Canadiens R.C. Church, 289 Dussault Ave. in Windsor Park on Wednesday March 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Eulogy will precede the funeral mass at 10:45 a.m. Private interment will follow. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Actionmarguerite for their care and compassion over the past eight years. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation may be made to the Actionmarguerite Foundation at 450 River Rd. Winnipeg, MB. R2M 5M4. Life is not ended, merely changed. Although I did not know Denise, I do know of her legacy of her son Allan. He is a wonderful man, and I am grateful that my sister was lucky enough to know him and be his wife. Lorsque j'étais au secondaire à St-Pierre-Jolys, elle était secrétaire. Mon amie et moi passions nos récréations à jaser avec elle. Elle m'a beaucoup marqué, une femme sincère et inspirante. Au revoir Denise. Xxx - Posted by: Nicole Forest Lavergne (Secrétaire d'école pendant mon secondaire) on: Mar 26, 2014

Denise was my namesake. My mother, Eugénie, and Denise were best friends and when I was growing up our families spent a lot of time together. Denise had a sunny disposition and loved to laugh and was equally able to make others laugh. I have very fond memories of Denise that I will cherish always. My sincerest sympathies to the family. Denyse. - Posted by: Denyse (daughter of Denise's friend) on: Mar 24, 2014
