Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERTA ANNA CLAY (TSCHIRHART) August 19, 1916 - March 19, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Alberta Clay at Lions Personal Care Centre. Left to cherish her memory are sons Michael of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and James of Winnipeg, daughter Frances also of Winnipeg, grandchildren, Tadd (Holly), Nathan (Nicole), great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Taylor, sisters Frances Dittrich (Stephan) of London, Ontario and Florence Limacher of Calgary, Alberta, as well as 30 nieces and nephews and their families in Ontario and Alberta, friends Paul (Kathleen), Tom (Jacqueline), John, Joan, and Chris to name a few. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Florence Tschirhart, brothers Edward (Annabelle), Harry (Marie), Kenneth (Mary), sisters Monica Tschirhart (in childhood) and Anna Fisher (Ervin), niece Marlene Hoover, and friends. Alberta was an independent, hard working and loving person. She was born in Walkerton, Ontario August 19, 1916 and went to work just slightly before her 16th birthday, retiring at the age of 62 years. Her family was everything to her and she lived her life in sacrifice for them. She lived many places in the long life afforded to her: which were Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Alberta, and settled finally in Winnipeg. She had quite the yen for travel and in her earlier and post-retirement years saw most of Canada up close. She enjoyed life and was truly thankful "every day" for the 97 years and seven months God granted her. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Winnipeg, 2400 Portage Avenue at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014. A viewing will be held at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg on March 26, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice, although Alberta held the Firefighter's Burn Fund close to her heart for the wonderful work they do. Special Thanks to the staff of Lions Personal Care Centre for their exemplary care for the last seven years of her life, for without it she would not have been with us this long. It will not soon be forgotten. - Godspeed Mom. We Will Love You Always - THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
