NORBERT CHRISTIAN KUBOTH June 9, 1942 - March 21, 2014 His Earthly venture has ended It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norbert Kuboth. After a brief battle with cancer, Norbert passed away on the evening of March 21, 2014 at home with his family by his side. Norbert was predeceased by his father Hubertus in 1971 and his mother Helena in 1997. He is survived by his wife Gertrude, of 46 years, his two sons Robert (Brenda) and Jason, grandsons Avery and Spencer. He is also survived by his brother Hubertus (Moni) Kuboth of Germany, Uncle Erich (Elma) Rode and family of British Columbia, cousin Karen (Andreas) Lylyk, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Born in Germany, Norbert completed his schooling and trade, and immigrated to Canada in 1960. He worked for Motor Coach Industries for 36 years in numerous positions, mainly as General Manager of Frank Fair Industries and then retired in the summer of 1997. He enjoyed spending his summers outdoors at Trail End Camp where he could always be found building or fixing something. He was also a long time member of the St. Hubertus Game and Fish Association and served many years on the executive committee for the club. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the Palliative Care nurses and home care workers. A special thanks to Ann, Lori, Pauline, Allen, and Chris for all the care and support they have given to Norbert and his family. A celebration of Norbert's life will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street.
