HELEN SENKIW Peacefully, on Saturday, March 22, 2014, Helen beloved daughter, sister and auntie passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 85 years. Left to mourn is her sister Julie (John) Thorney; nephews, Bill (Debbie), Brad (Dina) their children, Britney, Brett and Drew John, Tyler (Becky) and Bryce; niece Barb Hilderman (Grant); great-niece and nephew, Brooke and Cole Hilderman; niece Janet Senkiw; great-nephew Eric Lie and his children Riley and Emma; and nephew Bill Senkiw. Helen is predeceased by her mother Eva; father Mike; brother Bill, sister-in-law Pat, and great-niece Kirsten Hilderman. Helen enjoyed going to church, watching sports especially football and curling and visiting a casino every so often. She sang in a choir called the Nightingales for many years visiting various senior centres bringing much joy to the residents. Helen enjoyed many trips to California to see her sister, this was a special time for her. In later years, spending time with treasured friends and family for a coffee or a dinner was always a treat. Helen had a wonderful sense of humor and an enormous capacity for empathy, friendship and love. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and family who will treasure the time they spent with her. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
