She married Bill in 1943 and together they operated St. Martin Transfer until their retirement. Olga was a devoted, generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her later years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a joy to her. Special occasions meant many presents and lots of ethnic food. Olga enjoyed volunteering in the local clubs, socializing with her friends, fishing with Polly and Anne, biking to Gypsumville with the girls, gardening with Pat, playing Bingo and knitting. During the last four years Olga resided at the Ashern Pioneer Manor. Thanks to friends Florence and Olga for their friendship and taking Olga out for special dinners, and to Emily for the many phone calls reminding her of all the curling games on television. Special thanks to the Homecare Program in St. Martin and Ashern, the Living Independence for Elders program and the staff at Lakeshore Hospital for their care. Till we meet again. We love you Mom. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin Community Hall. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's own choice. I am so sorry to hear about Aunty Olga. She was an awesome Aunt . I have such fond, fond, memories of her for life of wonderful country ice cream in her basement, a wonderful garden and peas, always happy and full of energy and most of all, truly kind and loving and affectionate! I regret my daughter never got to know her as time goes so quickly , and life passes us by. I was blessed to have those "country " moments in my crazy city life! To all the Manitoba cousins and family, I'm so sorry for your loss of your mom and mother in law! She was the coolest! Love you all, and hope to see you soon and visit Aunty Olgas resting place Lorrie & Lauren Howe - Posted by: lorrie howe (niece) on: May 10, 2014
