FRANCISKA PAULINE SILVANOVICH Peacefully, after a very brief illness, Franciska (Frances) Pauline Silvanovich passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the age of 89. Frances is survived and remembered by her daughter Alena Rossnagel (Len) and son Andre (Sheila), grandchildren Lorysa (Sean), Emma (Chase), Natalie, Mark, Evelyn (Nick), Danny, James and best friend Linda. She was predeceased by her husband Mikola in 1975, partner Jack in 1994, and sons Paul in 2008, Peter in 2011. Frances had a very independent spirit which allowed her to live her life on her own terms and served her well throughout her life. She lived independently and maintained her own home in Osborne Village until her passing. Mom immigrated from Poland to Canada after the war in 1948. Mikola joined her in 1949, and they purchased a house on Walnut Street in the Wolseley area in 1954 where they raised their children. She enjoyed working at McDonald's from 1975 to 1985, where she was known as "Mom" to many of the younger staff. Mom was always up for family gatherings, a glass of beer, going out for dinners, shopping, and visiting at the cottage at Delta Beach until the 2011 flood made that impossible. She enjoyed watching TV her favourite programs being "The Price is Right" and "The Young and the Restless" - going to garage sales to look for bargains and visits to the casinos. Above all else Mom loved spending time with her grandchildren. No grandma could have been prouder of her grandchildren than Mom. Special thanks go to the paramedics who attended to Mom at her home, the emergency room staff, and the care staff on E5 at the St. Boniface Hospital for making Mom's last days comfortable and peaceful. You were all truly amazing. In accordance with Frances' wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, Room D1003-409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL (204) 586 -8044
