GUIDO MARTELLI It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father and Nonno Guido at the age of 82 years. Dad was born in Mozzagrogna, Italy on May 28, 1931. He immigrated to Canada in 1960 to marry the love of his life Elisa in April of the same year. Their family started to grow when they welcomed their daughter Maria Assunta in April 1961. Their family was complete with the birth of their son Mike in April 1964. Dad had several passions in life one of them being his family specially his grandchildren (tesoros) who would make his face light up. He also took great pride in his home and garden and often received numerous compliments on his beautiful flowers and vegetable garden. Dad was a very hardworking man. He sometimes worked several jobs to provide for his family. He was a carpenter by trade and his attention to detail was evident in all of his wood-working projects at home and work. Dad retired in 1989 after a 25 year career at Shore Glass. He was predeceased by his parents Michelangelo and Assuntina, his sisters Anna and Giovina and brothers-in-law Antonio and Nicola. He leaves to mourn his wife of 53 years Elisa, daughter Maria Assunta (Robert) and son Mike. His grandchildren Adam, Mark and Andrew-Anil. His brothers in Italy Levino (Rita), Umberto (Francesca) and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves his brothers-in-law Salvatore (Giuseppina), Marino (Antonietta) and sister-in-law Santina. A special thank you to all the doctors and nursing staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their exceptional care of dad and compassion for the family. Also a special thank you to family and friends for their kind words and support. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. with Rev. Father Sam Argenziano celebrant.
