HELEN STASYNEC (nee HNIDAN) Peacefully, on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Holy Family Home, Helen Stasynec, beloved wife of John. Helen was born and raised in Winnipeg and had a 40 year career in the accounting department at Burns Meats. She was also active in both Holy Eucharist and St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Parishes. Left to cherish Helen's memory are her husband of 64 years, John; daughters, Carol Kadri (Nasser) and Candice Stasynec; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and three brothers, Joseph, Nicholas and Michael. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 2 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt Street at Munroe Avenue, with Rev. Dr. M. Kwiatkowski officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lubov Foundation, 1085 Main St., Winnipeg, MB R2W 3S1. We are very sad to learn today of Aunty Helen's passing. I have a lot of fond memories of Aunty Helen, especially at the cottage at Winnipeg Beach. She will be greatly missed.
