CECILIA HUZUL It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Cecilia Huzul during the early morning hours of Friday, March 28, 2014. Cecilia was born 54 years ago in Iloilo City, Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1993. She is survived by husband Rory, father Jose, siblings Julie Ann (Jeffrey), Julius (Teofila), Jose Jr. (Miriam), Ana Liza (Alejandro) and Joel (Nora). Cecilia was a devoted and loving wife, a magnificent daughter and sister and a selfless, giving soul. The quintessential "Manang" (older sister), Cecilia spent her life fulfilling the needs of others before her own. As a teacher, early childhood educator and health care aide worker, she was well respected and admired by everyone she touched. A devout Catholic, Cecilia lived her life in a way that praised God. Her kindness and caring nature will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank the staff of MICU at Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care. Viewing/Lamay will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 commencing at 6:00 p.m. from Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. and it will broadcast live at 6:45 p.m. at the following link, http://www.webcastc.com/mosaic Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 748 Keewatin St., Winnipeg, MB. We were so saddened when we read the notice in the paper as we had not talked to Rory for a few years with everybody being busy doing this and that, time seemed to just slip away. The last time we did talk to Cecilia was the day after she had her breast removed as she was home already and sounded absolutely wonderful and we were so thankful to the Good Lord that she said all was taken out and she was as good as can be. We continued to pray for her because with Cancer, you cannot trust it. We regret now not getting in touch with them over holidays etc but they had their family and we had things on the go and time just seemed to be going faster and faster. We pray that Rory is holding up through all he has had to go through and wanted to post this earlier but had computer issues and could not sign onto this site properly, but now we want to send our wishes to Cecilia and know she will R.I.P. and be free of pain and suffering and will be watching down to ensure Rory is doing well along with her family also. Take care sweet Cecilia and we think of you often as you brought such joy to Rory's life for such a short time, BUT IT WAS QUALITY NOT QUANTITY. We were truly blessed for your presence in all of our lives. You touched our hearts and will be forever treasured in memories shared together. Your thoughtful kind ways, your neverending faith in God, and, even when time drew short, you still offered comfort to those around you. Rest well & be at peace dear Angel. - Posted by: Barbara Huzul (Sister-in-law) on: Apr 02, 2014

Cecilia will be missed by the children and staff at Huron Child Care where she spent the last fifteen years. She was admired and respected by everyone who knew her. She was a kind, loving, caring and generous person who was very passionate about her work that she did with children. Cecilia will be remembered for her dedication, hard work, her many talents such as music, arts and crafts, to name a few. It truly is a great loss not only to our organization but for each person she touched. - Posted by: Rita & Mathew Chand () on: Apr 02, 2014
