MAUREEN GLOVER (nee NUYTTEN) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maureen Glover on April 03, 2014 at the age of 71. Maureen is lovingly remembered by her Husband of 51 years Dale, her sons Brian (Linda), Blair (friend Susie), Alan (Dana) and by three grandchildren - Julia, Alicia, and Melanie. She is also remembered by her brother Robert Nuytten (Frances), brother-in-law Alan Glover (Patricia) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maureen grew up on Dugald Road in St Boniface. She had many fond memories of the various aunts, uncles and cousins who also lived within the areas small close knit Belgian community. Maureen and Dale married in 1962 and settled in Fort Garry where they raised their family. She enjoyed traveling and spending summers at their Victoria Beach cottage. Her other favourite pastimes included reading, crosswords and cooking for her family. Throughout the years Maureen was employed in office administration with various companies. She worked at Safeway, Kummen-Shipman, Scotia Bank and finally Mikkelsen-Coward where she worked with Dale until they both retired. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Maureen's family wish to extend their sincere gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface General Hospital for their compassionate and excellent care provided to her. Special thanks are also extended to the numerous family friends who were always present during her final days. So sorry to hear of Maureen's passing. She was my closest cousin.This sad news brings back some great memories of us, as children, playing board and other games when our parents got together on Sunday nights,and playing at the beaches during the summers.
