Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE FREDERICK ANDREWS June 7, 1934 - April 10, 2014 With deep sadness we announce that George Frederick Andrews, our beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on April 10, 2014 in the Eriksdale Personal Care Home at the age of 79. George will be missed immensely by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a cheery outlook on life and a wonderful sense of humour. He was a gentle and kind man who regularly lit up the lives around him. He was friendly to all, curious about the world around him, and had a genuine interest in others and their families. George and his brother Russell lived a simple life close to the earth. They shared a very strong bond and one would rarely be seen without the other. Both were known as hard workers and were respected for their honesty and down to earth characteristics. Their lives centred around their land and cattle. They mainly raised Herefords, but later introduced Black Angus into their herd. They loved visits from their close-knit family in Winnipeg, and looked forward to Connie's visits from Vernon, B.C. When they had spare time, George and Russell especially enjoyed driving around the Interlake to 'see the sights' and came to know many families in Eriksdale, Lundar, Ashern, Arborg, and Poplarfield and would always enjoy stopping for lunch to socialize. George and Russell lived and worked on the family farm until their health declined in 2010. George was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Agnes Andrews, his sisters Freda and Eileen, and his brother Albert (Bud). George will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his brother Russell, his sisters Myrtle (Fred), Connie (Bob) and his sister-in-law Laura. Nieces and nephews left to grieve are Howard (Sue), Sylvia, Linda, Carl (Pippi), Herb, Don (Heather), Cheryl (Emil), Daryl, Kevin (Lisa), Kristi (Dale), Shannon (Doug), Angela (Dale) and Delaina. George also had numerous great nieces and nephews. Sincere thanks are extended to Dr. Gergis and the nurses of the Eriksdale Personal Care Home and the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital for each act of kindness shown to our loved one. We also greatly appreciate Scott and Vienna Kinkead and Ken and Paula Olafson and others for supporting George in every way possible. To all of you, we will long remember your caring for our dear one. A Celebration of Life for George will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of George to the Canadian Cancer Society 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Thank you to the Arnason Funeral Home. Arrangements by; ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593

Our families met through Eileen and each of us felt like our families adopted each other. You were like a brother to us. Our families shared special times together, birthday parties, suppers, visits, Sunday drives, Lundar fairs, and a lot of good conversation and laughs. Your warm smiles radiated caring and love to us. We will miss our talks, your twinkling eyes and sense of humour. Until we meet again, our love be with you - Ken and Paula - Posted by: Ken & Paula Olafson (Friends) on: Apr 15, 2014

Uncle George, It has been my privilege to be your niece. We have spent so many fun and meaningful moments together I will always hold close to my heart. You taught me so many valuable aspects of life in how you lived yours. Your blue twinkly eyes will be etched in my countless memories and the incredibly positive outlook you held here with us will carry on with me. Thank you Uncle George for all your patience and kind heart to make our trips to the farm so enjoyable. Time and time again I think of so many fun moments. As I sat with you in the last few days while you were asleep, I couldn't help notice your hands were still. That would be the first time I had witnessed you at complete rest as I am so aware of how hard you've worked in your life. Be at peace now Uncle George and know how much you were loved here and now in heaven. Love, Emil, Cheryl & family - Posted by: Cheryl (Niece) on: Apr 12, 2014

It is with Saddness, that we see that another of our friends have left us all with a void, and sad hearts. We want to Remember George as the Special Fellow he was, as his obituary says:....Years ago, His Dad Fred; his Brother "Bud"; and, "George" & Russell; often visited the Jundt Farm, to Chat over a "Rye', or Coffee, or both; & talk "Farming"..."shoot the Bull",so to speak!....those years have "long gone", but, the Memories are still there, in our hearts & minds....Our Deepest Sympathy is extended to "Russell", and ALL the rest of the Family....George was a Special Fellow, "for sure"... sincerely, Janet Jundt & Family.♥ - Posted by: Janet Jundt & Family (Aquaintances & Friends) on: Apr 12, 2014
