GRACE ELLEN FEHR (nee PENNER) July 9, 1938 - April 11, 2014 Surrounded by her family, prayers and love, Grace left us to be with her Saviour at the age of 75. She is survived by her children- Cheryl Van Iderstine (Jim) of Smokey Lake, Alberta, Ted Fehr (Jessica) of Sarnia, Ontario and Lorraine Koch (Greg) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Grandchildren Mitchell Van Iderstine (Nina) of Bonnyville, Alberta, Neil Van Iderstine (Khalia) of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Lisa Van Iderstine (Mike) of Edmonton, Alberta, Andrew Koch (Jane) of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Nickolaus Koch of Winnipeg, Manitoba, great- grandchildren- Riekyn, Jossyn, Damon and Kaylee Van Iderstine, brother Jim Penner (Gloria) of Rosser Manitoba, sister-in-law Helen Penner and many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her husband John J. Fehr, her parents John L. and Anna Penner, brother Bernie Penner and granddaughter Angeline Van Iderstine. Grace was born on a farm in Plum Coulee, Manitoba and left to work in Altona as a Telephone Operator where she met her husband. They got married on May 1, 1959. They moved to a house on the Fehr Family farm in Schoenthal where they worked the land and raised their family. Grace was always busy. She kept a large vegetable and flower garden where she enjoyed tending to her plants and reaping the harvest. As time went on and their children grew up and moved on with their own lives Grace got a job with D.W. Friessen's doing cottage work in their home which she thoroughly enjoyed. They moved into the town of Altona in 1996 and she spent her time there with a small garden, work and many projects that she always had on the go to keep her hands busy. Her family and faith were very important to her and she always made time for church, Bible studies, friends and family gatherings and visiting. The funeral service for Grace will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altona United Church. With interment to follow in the Plum Coulee Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona, Wednesday, April 16, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at the church prior to the funeral. The family would like to extend a special thank you the wonderful staff at the Altona Hospital for the fantastic care they gave Grace while she was there.
