I knew Ruth when she was just a little girl performing at the local horse shows that we put on for backyard riders. She was a willing and tenacious competitor and I always wondered what became of this little girl, it seems she lived and full and happy life - Rest in Peace Ruth. - Posted by: Liz Cullingham (Old Friend) on: Apr 30, 2014

Sincere condolences to Paul and family. I admired Ruth from the moment I met her. I always knew when Ruth, Paul and Ojin entered the room because my Vernon lit up at the sight of Ojin. She always did play hard to get. Thank you Diane for the beautiful eulogy. I'm grateful to have known this amazing woman. She is sadly missed and will not be forgotten. - Posted by: Janet H (friend) on: Apr 29, 2014

I met Ruth on a social outing with a common friend about 15 years ago. We hit it off like we had known each other for years, like two peas in a pod. I was in awe at Ruth's constitution of strength, charisma, positivity, intellect, great wit and amazing sense of fortitude in all of her endeavors. She epitomized strength and was an absolute fireball with great passion and conviction with a foundation of caring, compassion with innate wisdom and maturity. She inspired many with her "don't feel sorry for yourself" disposition. She demonstrated and reflected a positive attitude, asserting herself even when she barely had the strength at times to put one foot in front of the other. Ruth was truly an incredible person that made a real difference in my life. She proved through her actions that no matter what comes at you in life you can still have it all...a wonderful husband; university education, graduating with honours despite going through the program being blind, experiencing a stroke and dealing with the loss of so many things that would drive most people to the brink. I remember when she came to see me in Florida. Ruth and Paul started to dance at Universal Studios to the Blues Brothers'"Soul Man". Paul took Ruth's hands and started moving and dancing with great energy. They started a chain reaction of most people moving and dancing once they saw Ruth and Paul. Ruth was the strongest person I ever met. She had beauty inside and out and to top it all off she was an amazing cook. Her butter tarts were out of this world. She had ears that really listened, a heart that truly cared and despite the fact she was blind...she had eyes that could see more than most. I will miss you my dear friend. Till we meet again. XO Love you! I am attaching the "Soul Man" video as a tribute in the following link.. - Posted by: Shannon Peitsch (Soul Sister) on: Apr 24, 2014

Ruthy and I grew up together and showed horses and had many miles of fun. Always remember our adventures and swapping lunches and clothing. Your Mom made the best ham sandwiches......We lost touch over the years after I got married and Ruth was in my wedding party. But I always thought about you and wondered how you were. Life takes us in many directions but we always have our fond childhood memories. Maxi the pony was an amazing pony and Ruth and I put on many miles riding the floodway and jumping anything we could find to jump....Rest well my dear friend. You made a difference and we will miss you......Chris - Posted by: Christine Proulx-Blowers (Childhood Friend) on: Apr 23, 2014

Sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. She was a amazing lady. Many good memories of Ruth at the Morris Stampede. There was never a dull moment when Ruth was around. Ron Church and myself probably teased Ruth more than we should of, but she always managed to get the best of us at some point in time. I'm sure there will a special place in heaven for such a special lady.
