JOSEPH SKOMOROWSKY Joe went home to the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2014 after a brave fight with cancer at the age of 77 years. Joe will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne; dear father to Debbie, Sandy (Bill), Tommy and Joey; Papa to Sean, Holly and Jesse. He was predeceased by his parents Lena (nee Chuckry) and Fred Skomorowsky; brothers Michael, Edward, Bill, Nick; sister Rose and son-in-law Grant Kennedy. Joe's greatest joy in life was spending time with Yvonne and the family. He loved camping, boating and fishing. He generously gave his time and effort to each one of us. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In memory of Joe, a contribution to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. "Heaven sent and safely returned to God," "Dad, you are deeply missed. We love you and wait for the day when we will be together again!". Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044

  • Our condolences to Yvonne and the rest of the family. I worked with Joe for a long period of time. As young workers under Joe's supervision, he would often entertain us during lunch breaks with some of his exploits. He loved to tell us about some of the big fish he caught or some trips he would go on. He was a good guy to work for and a good teacher. He will be missed. Joe give them heck in that big corrugator in the sky. Paul H. Groleau, friend - Posted by: Paul H. Groleau (Friend and co-worker) on: Apr 28, 2014
