RAYMOND LORNE DALMAN
Born: Jul 18, 1950
Date of Passing: Apr 22, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND LORNE DALMAN July 18, 1950 April 22, 2014 It is with sadness but peace that I have left the "love of my life" Rachel (DeSorcy), my stepchildren Kurtis Ross (Theresa), Calvin Ross and my precious granddaughter Twyla. Always know that you were close in my heart. I go to meet in heaven my parents Harold and Sheila (nee Arason) Dalman, my brother Wayne and my little Sassie. I say "so long" to my sister Joan (Chris) from Comox, sister Judy (Garth) from Winnipeg, and brothers Norman (Pat) and Gordon (Eileen) from Gimli. I love you and take care. To my extended family (too many to list), don't regret my death. We've had a great time and know that I was very lucky to have been brought into the fold. Think of me when the Jets and Bombers play. I'll be coaching from above. Leaving Gimli at 18 years old was not an easy decision. However, this led me to working at CNR for 40 years in the Transcona Shops and Symington Yard as a Heavy Duty Mechanic/ Machinist and making many lifelong friends. It's with the deepest gratitude that I thank Gerald DeSorcy and Cindy Southall, Andre DeSorcy, Ron Kent and Theresa Ross for their dedication to Rachel and me during this illness. Their support and love made it possible to enjoy being at home during this time. Ray and Rachel enjoyed 20 years of riding their Harley throughout Canada and the U.S. Ray never felt as free as when he was on the bike. He always looked forward to his Thursday night rides and the annual Bismarck trip with the guys. Life was a highway! "I love you man!" When he was not riding you could find Ray at car shows talking shop with the car guys, watching sports like hockey, football, and curling or entertaining in the backyard with a BBQ and rides on the margarita train. Thanks to Don Kennedy for the hottest Harley ramp ever. Thank you to the ALS Society who go the "extra mile" and stop at nothing to guarantee comfort and care. Thank you to the SMD Foundation for the great technology and the new wheels! Thank you to WRHA and the Palliative Care team for their unwavering devotion and care. In lieu of flowers donations to the ALS Society or SMD Foundation would be appreciated as these angels made it possible for me to feel comfortable and safe in these last years of my life. In keeping with Ray's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 204-253-5086 ejcoutu.com

I've only known Ray and Rachel for a couple of years but truly enjoyed our conversations. Some days it was only a good morning or afternoon but that was still good to me because I know you meant it the same way I do. Sorry to all members involved. Cheers Ray!!! - Posted by: Ryan (Bill and check bringer) on: May 01, 2014

Ray was a man with a quick smile and always a good story. He always made you feel like you were his best friend. I'll best remember Ray at Smitty's Wing Night with the Boy's and him making his Famous Margaritas. To Rachel and Family, words fall short of expressing our sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Frank and Karen Sawchuk (Friend) on: Apr 28, 2014

I will always remember Raymond as a free spirit and fun to be around. Ray was close with my parents and he and Rachel were so kind to them. They always looked forward to the sound of that motorcycle pulling into their driveway in Netley. I was fortunate enough to have had a wonderful visit with both Ray and Rachel, along with my mother, last summer before Ray became so debilitated. My heart is with Rachel and the family during this hard time. with love and sympathy. - Posted by: Aprille Dalman & Grant Crouch (Cousin) on: Apr 28, 2014

My condolences to Rachel and family. Ray was a very special guy. He made our little gang at Symington a lot more enjoyable. Especially the crane inspection evenings, complete with sub sandwiches. Peace to you Raymond. - Posted by: Lorry Falvo (Friend) on: Apr 27, 2014

Ray was a great friend that we might have never met, if it was not for our love of riding our Harleys. He was a brother thru this association that will be dearly missed. Sorry for your loss Rachel, our thoughts are with you & stay strong because you know that is what Ray would want. - Posted by: Wayne & Jackie Chambers (long time friends) on: Apr 26, 2014

Our deepest sympathy to Rachel and extended families at this time. We enjoyed having Ray and Rachel stop by to visit us on their trips to Edmonton and getting together on our trips to Winnipeg. You will always be remembered by the nickname that one Scottish lady curling fan in Milwaukee gave you when she asked us where is your " obnoxious little friend" after a tough day of being Captain Canada. Take care Rachel. - Posted by: Larry & Janet Houndle (Friends) on: Apr 26, 2014
