EDITH DORIS SPRINGSTEIN (COUSER) -
Date of Passing: Apr 16, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH DORIS SPRINGSTEIN (COUSER) 1920 - 2014 With her family by her side, Edith passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the age of 93. Mom will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her children Donna, Ralph, and Colleen (Bill) Ammeter. She will also be missed by her grandsons, Matthew and Jonathan of whom she was extremely proud and blessed to be able to see them grow into the fine young men they are today. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Lorne of almost 60 years, her mother, her sisters Mary (Dave) Tees; Margaret (Charlie) Taylor; Edna (Harry) Constant, Kathleen (Jack) Adkin, Helen (Nelson) Galbraith her brother Tom (Irene) Couser; and her niece Bev Lawrence. Mom was born in Winnipeg and lived most of her life in West Kildonan where she raised her family. She worked at Eaton's until she started her family. She loved to bowl and did so with the Post Office and Victoria Ladies leagues for many years. Mom was also a member of the U.C.W. for many years, she also worked on many elections. Mom loved her weekends in the summer at Lake Nutimik and we will miss her there this summer. Mom loved her family and was always there to lend a hand or to give advice. Mom, we will miss you but you will always be in our hearts. Mom's was a life well lived. The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and especially the kind and compassionate Paramedics. In keeping with Mom's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made in Edith's name to a charity of your choice. A Mother's Love A Mother's love is something that no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may, For nothing can destroy it or take that love away... It is patient and forgiving when all other are forsaking, And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking... It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems... It is far beyond defining, It defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation... A many splendored miracle man cannot understand And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
