Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK GARY PLATT "GARY" August 3, 1944 - April 21, 2014 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband and best friend, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Gary was predeceased by his parents Jack and Wilma Platt. He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend Gayle Jensen, children Glen (Georgina), Aynsley (Rob) and Scott, stepchildren Tracy and Shelly, sisters Lenore (Celeste), Wendy (Bill), niece Erin (Garth), and grandchildren Ryan, Tyler, Matthew, Connor, Riley, Rhett, Mason, Reece, Carson and Chase. Gary was a highly respected officer with the Winnipeg Police Force, retiring in 2004, after 40 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and spending time at the cottage, fishing and boating with friends and family. He had a great love for all living things and was happy in his home with his cherished dogs, birds and fish. Gary touched many people's hearts with his kind, generous and giving nature. Those close to Gary soon came to realize his great sense of humour and wit. He loved crime stories and could always be found either reading a book or watching one of his favourite shows. Gary and Gayle could frequently be found enjoying a meal together in one of their favourite restaurants. Cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held at this time. Dear Gary, thank you for loving me and my sometimes crazy kids, Shelly and Tracy. You gave us 30 years of honesty, kindness and most important love. You have such a quick wit it was hard to stay mad at you. You thanked me many times for loving and taking care of you, but honey you were the one taking care of me. We always shared such friendship and love of our ten grandsons. We all miss you so much. Your dogs are looking for you. You had such angels looking after you, especially Dr. Kumar and his team at Health Sciences Centre and EMT at home. They were so kind. I know you are with me. People are so kind to me and so sad you are not here. It speaks volumes what a wonderful person you are. Love you forever, Gayle Just hold my hand and feel it Just look in my eyes and you'll see it Listen when I whisper your name and you'll hear it. Love you hon In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to Paws in Motion in care of PetValue, 15-2025 Corydon Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 0N5, phone 204-488-3187. I was so very saddened to hear of Gary's death. I had no idea that he was ill. I got to know Gary when I worked with him in St. James. As a supervisor, he was always a treat to work for. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Gary over those 6 years. My sincere condolences to Gayle and the rest of Gary's family. - Posted by: Bob Russell (Former colleague ) on: Apr 28, 2014
