Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND WALTER MAZUR It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Raymond Walter Mazur on April 24, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy (nee Sentla) and his three sons; Ken, Kurt (Shanna), Rob (Rosa) and grandchildren Mitchell, Seren, Kate and Katelyn (grandpa's dancing partner); brother to Morris (Irene), Helen Chercoe (Ron), and Phillip (Margaret), brother-in-law to Jack Sentla (Eileen). Raymond was born on August 16, 1938, in Melrose, Manitoba, to Thomas and Julia Mazur (Chapko). Ray worked at Bristol Aerospace, Western Engine Works, Steinbach Secondary Regional School. He retired from Kildonan East Regional Secondary School where he worked as a welding instructor and work education coordinator. Ray was a very talented and creative person. He enjoyed working with stained glass, wood carvings and was very gifted in doing mechanical repairs. Ray was very active with the Knights of Columbus and valued his church friends and community. He loved to be involved in the kitchen for functions and also enjoyed decorating the church with the altar society. Ray was a very gentle man who rarely said no and always wore a smile. He loved golf, hunting, fishing and building a cottage with Peggy and his sons. In his retirement, he loved to winter in Mesa, Arizona. Ray was very happy in life and appreciated all that he encountered with gratitude. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Parish, 250 Burrin Avenue. We will all miss him dearly, especially Peggy whom he always took such good care of. He will forever be in our hearts. VICHNAYA PAM'YAT! Cropo Funeral Chapel, 204-586-8044

I'm very sad to hear of Rays passing.I did try to get a hold of him several years ago to let him know that even though he was a little tough on me from 1983-86, that I used that for the good and am now a successful welding inspector in BC. I knew he was actually a very nice man but I was at times more of a pain in the ass. All an all I thank him for what I am today. My condolences to your family . - Posted by: Ken Butchko (Welding student) on: Apr 10, 2016

We met Ray & Peggy 4 years ago when we purchased our Park Model in Val Vista Village. We just learned of Ray's passing and we are so sad. We will miss them immensely in Mesa. Ray was always ready to help us as we had a lot to learn in our new home away from home. Ray was the man to go to when someone needed help. He was very knowledgeable, kind and amicable. He took care of our place when we weren't there. He also was a man with many stories and we enjoyed hearing them all. We will miss him. We enjoyed Ray & Peggy immensely. This past winter we spent more time with them and enjoyed our times together. They are a great couple and one of the highlights of our trips to Mesa. It won't be the same. - Posted by: Chris & Linda Engel (friend- neighbor in Mesa) on: Oct 06, 2014

I was saddened to hear of the passing of "Mr. Mazur". Growing up on "the bay" on Attache I have many memories of Ray and the Mazur family. He was always the go to guy for house or auto repairs and advice. When my parents moved into condo life I was happy for them to know Ray and Peggy lived in the same complex and would continue to be neighbors. My condolences to Peggy, Ken, Kurt and Rob as well as the whole family. Heaven has another good man! - Posted by: Frank Consiglio Jr. (Friend/Neighbor) on: Apr 29, 2014
