LUIS LOSA PONTANARES September 15, 1941 - April 22, 2014 Luis died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday at the age of 72 years from complications related to a stroke he had suffered in 2011. He was born in Nabua, Cam. Sur Philippines to Anastacio and Felicitas. Luis is survived by his wife Marianita and his three children Marilou (Andre), Joel and Grace (Shane); grandchildren Marte, Gabriel, Noah and Lucas; siblings Primo (Gloria), Zoe, Jesusa (Rudy), Florida (Domingo) and numerous friends and loved ones. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Roque, Adela, Tito, Gloria. Luis immigrated to Canada in 1973. He worked for Pauwel's Canada (Federal Pioneer) for 31 years and retired in 2004. He enjoyed fixing cars, camping, fishing, traveling and mall-walking. He spent his life doing for others and was never happier than when he was surrounded by his friends. The family would like to send special thanks to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home, Dr. Ernesto Milambiling, Dr. Shane Mutz and E.R. staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Viewing/Lamay will be held on Saturday May 3, 2014 commencing at 6:00 p.m. from Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Vigil prayers at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Father Rainerio Sarce officiating. Cremation will take place. Interment in the Philippines at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.   • I only had the pleasure of knowing uncle Eng for a few years, but in that time I came to appreciate what a hard working and caring man he was. He will truly be missed.
