A few of us were blessed to visit with John, in Arborg, MB, one final time in August of 2103. As we left that place I felt we would not see each other again in this lifetime, but that our reunion would come very soon--in either 1000 years or in 1 day; as God counts time. There isn't enough space here to begin to express the depths of our relationship, so it must suffice to say that John filled the place of a dear friend, and fellow seeker after the deeper truths hidden in the Word of God, but by His spirit revealed as He wills, to those willing to venture, as He beckons, onto the 'Road Less Traveled'. It was always a blessing and an adventure to search for and to explore the "hidden treasures" of God, with Brother John. He challenged my thinking, while at the same time he encouraged it; the only requirement being that any conclusions we arrived at along the journey, must enlarge Jesus, and His victory at the cross. Untold hours, night and day, were spent together in reading and searching the Bible (in many translations & paraphrases), remembering Solomon's wise admonition: "...too much study, brings only weariness..." which then, too, was a good reminder....only the revelation that comes by Jesus, can bring light to the human spirit, and hope to the human heart. One of the lessons learned from all this time with our Brother, was to continue in the search of God's word. Not to support or defend a particular favorite doctrine, but for the purposes mentioned in these three Scriptures: Ephesians 4:12-15 ...for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13. until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15. but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, & 2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. & Philippians 3:8-9 ...count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,... 9. and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own... I, we, will miss our Brother, until, when we see Jesus, we will also see John, as well as all the others who have gone before to personally experience...The Greater Hope. In Jesus, blessings! I did not know John personally but wish to offer sincere condolences as well as a comforting thought from the scriptures. When Jesus friend Lazarus passed away from a sudden illness, he was moved to show both his willingness and his ability to raise his friend back to life (John 11:11). At John 5:28, 29 we see that "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." What does this mean? Friends and family, will soon be brought back to life to enjoy Jehovah God's original purpose for the human family...perfect health in a perfect earth without the negative influences we see around us today. May you continue to search the scriptures for comfort and hope. - Posted by: Peter () on: May 02, 2014

John, you were a very dear and beloved friend of our deceased parents, Pastors George and Christina Beardy of Lake St. Martin. We remember the many many times you stayed, spent time and fellowship with us at home, at church, and in the community. We loved your teachings, we admonished your spiritual insights, we adored you as a person, as uncle John, as dear friend and fellow labourer in Christ. We will always have very fond memories of you,,,you became one of us, to dwell among us, share bread with us, and many times of laughter. Vina....whom you nicknamed.....shingoose. - Posted by: Vina Rundle on behalf of the Church-Lake St. Martin (close friend,) on: May 01, 2014
