HAZEL JEAN ANDERSON (nee RODGERS) May 14, 1919 - May 8, 2014 On Thursday, May 8, 2014 our beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma passed away at Park Manor Personal Care Home. Hazel was predeceased by her husband Harry and siblings Beryl (George) Post, Jack (Frances) Rodgers, Alison (Otto) Michalosky, Alan (Lillian) Rodgers, brothers-in-law Ivan (Chuck) Stewart, John Anderson and son-in-law Bill Manning. Mom will be forever remembered by her daughters Cheryl and husband Ken Shields and Colleen Manning, her granddaughters of whom she was so very proud, Kelly and husband Dave Bowen, Jaimie and husband Kris Anton, and her special little great-grandsons, Jhet and Lincoln Bowen and Clark and Blaise Anton. She is also survived by her sister Mavis Stewart, sister-in-law Thelma Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Mom grew up in Sanford, Manitoba. In 1943 she graduated as a registered nurse from the Misericordia General Hospital and worked at Deer Lodge Hospital, where she met Dad, and later at the Golden Door Nursing Home. Mom really enjoyed our family times, card games, her handicrafts, the Blue Jays and our many happy trips together. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. We extend special thanks to the wonderful staff of Park Manor Personal Care Home, we appreciate the respect, care and compassion you extended to Mom. We would also like to thank the staff of Thorvaldson Intermediate Care Centre for their care and kindness to Mom, where she lived for almost four years prior to moving to Park Manor. If so desired, donations in Hazel's memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Ave, Winnipeg MB. R3A 0G7. "Rest now Mom, your worries are over. We love you." • Dear Colleen: I am so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. I remember her as a wonderful and caring woman. I still have the poncho which she knit for me way back in 1968. My sincere condolences. Marlene Jones - Posted by: MARLENE JONES (FRIEND) on: May 17, 2014
