DUNCAN FARLEY BARR
Date of Passing: May 07, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDUNCAN FARLEY BARR It is with great sadness, the siblings of Duncan Farley Barr announce the sudden passing of their beloved brother on May 7, 2014. He was an exceptional man, with strong beliefs and the courage of his convictions. Family, friends and glider flying were some of his passions along with computer gaming and his love of life and music. Duncan was always the life of the party. Duncan had quite a few jobs in his life, the last being at the City of Winnipeg since 1986. The thing he took to all of them was his personality and sense of humour which he left with all he met. He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Audrey. Duncan is survived by siblings June (Reg), Gigi (Wilf), Timothy (Gloria), Stuart (Cheryl) and four nephews Beau, Harley, Christopher and Cole and many friends. Thank you to all the medical staff that cared for Duncan in his time of need. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. Don't dress drab this is a celebration!!!! Honorary pallbearers are Timothy, Stuart, Harley, Christopher, Wilf and Ken. Instead of flowers, we will be collecting for a park bench marker in a City Park, thank you. We are very saddened by the sudden loss of Duncan. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Duncan’s family and to all his co-workers at Central Control. Although we only got to know Duncan a few years ago, we really enjoyed stopping by Central Control to say a quick hello and goodbye to him on our way to and from work. He always had a smile on his face and was happy to take the time to chat with us. He will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Arlene / Laurie (co-workers) on: May 15, 2014

We were so saddened to hear of Duncan's passing He had worked with my brother, Duncan Andrew, as well as myself in the City of Winnipeg and always had a lot of wise and deep conversations with each of us. He was a hard worker and loved nature. We sat around many times in the midst of trees and talk about his dreams. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. I can almost see him questioning Jesus now and getting into a healthy debate about Heaven's issues! God Bless all of Duncan's siblings, and extended family He will definitely be missed - Posted by: Cynthia Slapinski nee Croll (Friend) on: May 13, 2014

It was a true pleasure and an honour to have known Duncan. He always brought joy and light to everyone around him. Even when he was under the weather he managed to bring sunshine into the picture. Although he has been taken far too soon, he lives in our hearts and our souls. We are all better people for having the opportunity to share our lives with Duncan. Now he paves the way for the next part of life's journey. Rest assured he takes a little bit of all of us with him as we have kept a little bit of him here with us. I share my deepest sorrow with June, Gigi, Tim, Stu and the rest of the Barr family and with heavy heart say see you later Duncan.......Luanne. - Posted by: Luanne Mutter (Family Friend) on: May 12, 2014
