Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE DUNSTONE 1917 - 2014 Peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2014, Beatrice passed away after a lengthy stay at the Victoria General Hospital. Mom was predeceased by her husband Sam in 1993, her two sisters Evelyn and Verna, and recently her son-in-law Wayne Warnock. She is survived by her three daughters, Judy Lynne Warnock, Susan (Tony) Sookram and Sally (Wayne) Hamilton. She also leaves to mourn eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born and raised in Transcona and married Sam in 1939. She was a source of strength and support to her family and will be greatly missed. Bea was a homemaker with many outside interests. She began her volunteer work at the Victoria General Hospital in 1964 and spent over 40 wonderful years working with the hospital guild predominantly as the manager of the gift shop. She also held various other positions in the Guild for several years. As a result of Bea's dedicated service she was the recipient of the Lieutenant Governor's Award for community service in 2003 and had a conference room and scholarship named in her honour at the hospital. We are very proud of her contributions to patient care at the Victoria Hospital. A sincere thank you to the staff of 3 South at the Victoria Hospital for the caring and kindness shown to our mother in her final months. Special thank you to Lesley Iredale and Pat Davidson for their wonderful friendship and kindness to our mother during her illness. Funeral services will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street in Transcona on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Bea Dunstone Scholarship Fund, c/o Guild of Victoria General Hospital, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8. Although I only knew her for 3 years she was a wonderful woman to know. She always had great stories to tell or fun memories were made when you were around her.
