RICHARD (DENNIS) CALVERT April 8, 1935 - May 8, 2014 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Dennis Calvert at Concordia Hospital at the age of 79 years. Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jo, son, Chris (Jackie) and daughter, Coryn as well as many extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister. Dennis was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the North End. He started his career as a police officer and in later years became a salesman and eventually driving shuttle upon retirement. His pride and joy was his family, always wanting to spend time with them. In earlier years it was travelling together for long road trips where Dennis could enjoy those long scenic drives that he loved so much with his family by his side; in later years it was Jo and him having everyone over for few drinks and a few laughs, these times will be deeply cherished. Dennis and Jo enjoyed travelling together especially, to Palm Springs to visit Dennis' cousin, Gordon Calvert. Dennis was an outgoing, friendly and warm soul who touched the lives of those he met. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing with his buddy, Neil, golfing, bowling and curling. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Barb and Tom Anderson for their love and support. Thank you especially, to Coryn's partner, Julie, and close friend, Irene for the special support to the family, it will never be forgotten. As well as to the home care staff Dawn and Jaffe and all the nursing staff of Concordia Hospital on N1 South, we truly appreciate everything you have done. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dennis may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. In keeping with Dennis' wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Even though he is gone, his joy and memory will live on. As Dennis said, "I had a great life." He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain. - Revelations 21 The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU & CO.
