JAY-JAY LACE BERENS It is with heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing, on May 12, 2014, of our daughter, sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Jay was predeceased by her husband Chris Luhowy, her stepson Brian, her great-granny Maggie and Mooshoom Ovide Hudson. Jay leaves to mourn her beautiful daughter Cheyenne Berens; her mother Aline Quesnel (Karl), her father Michael Berens (Wanda), grandmother Ester, grandmother May; her sister Nicole (Kyle), their children: baby Kyle, Liam, Elisha, Tashina, Breea, Aleah, Nicolas, and Cole, and her brother Tyler (Glennis), their children: Kynia, Victor, Dakota, Dexter, Warren, and Tyler Junior. She also leaves behind cousins: Ivory, Hillary, Kimmy, Nataly, Jeremy, and Jessica all who she was very close with, and for all the babies which she kept a special place in her heart for. Jay was also very dearly loved by her all numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Jay was proud to be Erica's sister cousin and best friend, along with her darling Chip. Jay will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her beautiful smile that usually accompanied her witty sense of humour. We admired and loved Jay-Jay for her infectious and contagious laugh and ability to express herself with words. Jay graduated from R.B. Russell and CDC College. She enjoyed cooking and began to learn more about our traditional teachings. We will miss the final touches Jay put out for family events, all the while keeping up her appearance and demeanor as a beautiful young woman. Wake services will be on Thursday, May 15, 2014 and Friday, May 16, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., all will be held at 239 Selkirk Avenue, the Floodgates Worship Centre. I cry so much when I am alone for you.. why didn't you call me, I would have taken your place I am so sorry that your life was in such a dark place, I would just hold you if I could…I love you Jay and I will never forget, your life meant a lot to us all, I will never say good bye, you will live on in our hearts and the memories we hold in our hearts will forever live on…. Although we never got to see one another often. When we did we would talk up a storm. I remember when you came back from your trip to Alberta how we talked about what that trip meant to you.
