DIANE BEVERLEY DAGG August 14, 1944 - May 13, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Diane at the age of 69. She is predeceased by her parents Jean and Roy, brother Wayne and nephew Joey. Diane is lovingly missed already by soulmate Ann, sister Sandra, brothers Charles (Nanci), Les (Heidi), and many nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish her memory is our shared family Beryl (Art), Gerry (Betty), John (Mary), Margaret (Doug), and special nieces and nephews in Canada and New Zealand. Born in Winnipeg, Diane grew up in South Transcona. She was a Class of '67 Grace grad and became a compassionate and skilled acute care nurse, touching many lives in her career. Incredibly generous of heart and spirit and an advocate of social equality, Diane was a master problem solver, a voice of reason, patient, with a sense of humour, an adventurous spirit and a love of all things nature - especially our Fort Richmond back garden. Among her myriad of interests was an eclectic taste in music, Coronation Street, the theatre, playing baseball and hockey as a girl, canoeing, sailing, travel in England, Europe and Hawaii, history and geography. (the atlas was well worn!!) Her creativity included woodworking, fine needlework, watercolours, poetry, photography and the art of list making! She made the most of every day and lived her life well. Good night - God Bless. Please join us in celebrating Diane's life at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard with reception to follow. If so desired, donations may be made in Diane's memory to Amnesty International: 312 Laurier Boulevard, Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 1H9 or the Winnipeg Humane Society: 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I will forever remember the fun "guided tour" of Calgary with Diane and Anne and Pat. Diane liked to travel and visit and it was such a pleasure to spend the day doing just that with friends. I feel blessed to have met Diane. My thoughts and prayers are with you Anne. - Posted by: Debbie Fettig (Friend) on: Jun 07, 2014

  • My sincere sympathies. Hugs to you Ann. Ivy - Posted by: Ivy Preddy (Class of 67) on: May 24, 2014

  • As a young child growing up in the country, I always enjoyed visits from my older cousin from the city. Looking at Diane's photographs from a new country that she had visited definitely left with me a desire to travel and a love for photography. As an adult, I admired her calm, tact, gentleness, humour, and love of family. I had a very nice visit with Diane in February ( although short). I am saddened to know that it was our last. Our heartfelt condolences to Ann and family. Love Deb and Karen. (From Vancouver) - Posted by: Deb Kolomaya (Cousin) on: May 20, 2014

  • Please accept my sincere condolences, Ann. - Posted by: Marianne (Regier) Siemens (Class of '67) on: May 19, 2014

Our visits with you all at family events were always a high point for both of us. Our deepest condolences to you. - Posted by: Marla & Scott Kolomaya (Cousins) on: May 17, 2014

  • My deepest sympathy to Diane's family and friends. I worked with Diane for many years at St. Boniface Hospital. She had a heart of gold and compassion for everyone. She will truly be missed. Geraldine & family - Posted by: Geraldine Beuckx (Kollar) (friend and co worker) on: May 17, 2014

  • Thinking of you Ann and the huge void Diane's sudden passing will leave in your life. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. See you Tuesday. - Posted by: Gail Lee (Booker) ('67 Classmate) on: May 17, 2014

  • Our deepest sympathy: Ann and the family. We will never forget Diane. She was a dear cousin. I remember the excitement when she was born and saw her for the first time. Through the years we have had many special times together. She has always been close to my heart, and we so appreciated her visits and to see her at family functions. We will miss her forever.
