Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERBERT (BERT) ARTHUR BEACHELL At the Grace Hospital on May 10, 2014, at the age of 98 and one half, Bert passed away after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his companion of many years, Frances Puhach. Bert was born on December 25, 1915; the only child of Arthur and Vera Beachell. He was raised on the family farm in Rosser, Manitoba. For many years Bert operated an automotive repair business there. Right up until this year, even though he lived in Winnipeg, Bert drove out to the farm daily. And there he could be found either working in the garden or tinkering with some piece of machinery in the shop. Bert had his own witty brand of dry humour. But beneath his sometimes seemingly gruff exterior was a kind man with sparkling blue eyes. He will be missed! In accordance with Bert's wishes, no formal service will be held. Interment will be at a later date. We would like to thank the Home Care and Palliative Care staff, along with the nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital, 5th Floor North, for their helpfulness and their compassionate care.

The announcement of his passing while brief says a lot about Bert. Many local people benefitted from Bert's inherent skills at repairing cars, trucks, farm machinery or anything else regardless of the time of day or day of the week. I can honestly say that Bert was a Excellant Honest man. And I know that Heaven has a place for him. He was so kind every day that we were together.
