Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM SMYKALSI October 2, 1930 - May 18, 2014 William (Bill) Smykalski passed away quietly at Charleswood Care Centre on May 18, 2014. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, son Larry (Dolores), daughter Donna Paterson and grandchildren Triston, Christopher, Samantha and Amber Smykalski, Kelly and Mathew Paterson. Also survived by his brother John (Shirley), sister Margaret (Jack) McRae and many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his son Richard (Ricky), also his parents and brothers Michael, Stanley and Gorge. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Charleswood Care Centre for their care of Bill. At his request cremation has taken place. Bill was such a lovely resident. I always took a moment to chat when I would pass him, "What do we do Dear?" He'd ask. Over time he came to recognize me and would ask about the meals. All 6 of Edith's children enjoyed our visits with Bill when we did our daily visit with Mom. He was always happy at the possibility that one of us could fetch him a coffee and spend a few minutes visiting.
