IRENE ISBISTER BRADSHAW With deep sadness we announce the passing of Irene Isbister Bradshaw on January 24 2014 in Vancouver after a brief battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Gail Slack (Allan) of Okotoks, AB and her brother, Leonard (Sharon) of Vancouver, BC. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Douglas McElrea of Winnipeg, MB and sister-in-law, Patricia Isbister also of Winnipeg, as well as one numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 11, 1933 and raised on Ferry Road in St James. Irene worked at Eatons, the Royal Bank and GMAC where she made many life long friends. She then moved to Vancouver where she lived for most of her life and where she enjoyed a successful career in business management. She was predeceased by her father, David Isbister, her beloved mother Lillian, her brother Leslie, her sister Anita, her brother Gary, her brother Don, and nephew David. Irene was a loving, generous and well read woman with a passion for history and current affairs. She had a wonderful sense of humour and an infectious laugh. Irene enjoyed travelling, with San Francisco and Hawaii being among her favourite destinations. Though she had no children of her own, she had a special bond with her nieces and nephews she was always "Auntie" and she loved them all. Irene was always there for anyone who needed her never judjmental just ready to listen and give wise advice, if asked. She was a very spiritual person so we take comfort that she is now reunited with her many loved ones who went before her. Irene is deeply missed and we will forever cherish our many special memories of her. A private family memorial service will be held in Winnipeg in June, as she always loved lilac season. Rest in Peace, Auntie.."Love you more".
