EDWARD WAYNE FAULKNER May 14, 1955 - May 23, 2014 Wayne (aka Larry, Eddy, and Flash) passed away suddenly on May 23, 2014. He will remain forever in the hearts of his wife Cindy, sons Steven and Philip, grandchildren Eric and Madeline, brother Ken, parents Elva and Dennis, and a very large, close knit extended family. His countless friends will miss his magnetic presence. Wayne was a small time promoter but a huge lover of the Blues, travelling extensively with Cindy at his side; keeping the Blues alive. Wayne was Eric's #1 soccer fan, Madeline's date for Barbie movies, and very proud of his sons. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 830 North Drive on May 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. In keeping with Wayne's laid back life style, festival attire is encouraged. A Blue's Party will be held in the fall. For online condolences or to light a memorial candle please log onto www.mosaicfunerals.ca 1839 Inkster Blvd. 1006 Nairn Ave. 204-275-5555

  • I remember thinking how great it was to work on science projects together in junior high. Wayne did a wonderful job of acting in our film production of Louis Riel. • My condolences to Cindy and family. Wayne was like a brother to me. Worked with him, admired, and respected him for the work he did to bring the Chicago BLUES to the PEG. From the Fargo Blues Festival to the many shows he brought to Winnipeg Wayne, Murray and Squid got me hooked on the blues:) Wayne I guess they needed a great blues promoter up there, but they took you way too early:(Save me a seat for the next show! • Wayne and I grew up on the same street in Windsor Park. My house number was 71 and Wayne's was 17. We played Little League baseball together. Wayne played for the Bisons and I played for the Pirates. Dang.... Wayne's team always beat us. Wayne often had a contact lens pop out during a game and the game stopped until it was found. He was a tremendous athlete and a great hockey player as well. Wayne was also a math wizard. I mean he was probably the smartest guy in school at pretty much every subject. Our paths diverged for quite a few years as we were both busy raising our families but one day we reconnected quite by accident at the St Vital Mall. I was wearing a WinnipegBlues.com tee shirt and was excited to tell Wayne all about the blues music I loved. Well was I ever surprised to learn that Wayne too had a great love for the blues music. And that is how we reconnected. Wayne even asked me and my former band to perform at one of his blues socials. I had so much fun with Wayne at the Fargo Blues Fest. I was a rookie so Wayne had to instruct me in the ways of enjoying myself at a blues festival. For example standing right at the front of the stage with our elbows on the stage, eating great festival food, taking tons of pictures of the performers, having a cold beer at regularly scheduled tailgate parties, etc. Wayne my dear friend I will miss you. Please keep a spot for me at the front of the new stage you're at and please when I join you in the future show me how to enjoy it up there too OK bud? Love ya'. - Posted by: jLuc Vanderdonckt (Friend) on: May 27, 2014

  • I will miss Wayne very much. A more generous Blues Bother never existed. I will be forever grateful for his contributions in making my Blues Birthday Bash last year such a success. We had a great time, and raised over $3000 for cancer research. Couldn't have done it without him. I am so saddened at his passing. On behalf of myself and my two sons, our deepest condolences go out to Cindy and family. God bless. - Posted by: Jordan Burg (Friend) on: May 27, 2014

  • For all the times you were late and kept people waiting, now you leave way too early. There is a large void in many lives that can't be filled. Miss you. - Posted by: Ken Faulkner (Brother) on: May 27, 2014

  • A total shock for all at Canada Post. A beautiful person and a real friend who will be truly and genuinely missed by all. We are all saddened by the loss and collectively express our condolences to Cindy and family. There will be a big blues concert happening in the great big sky and Wayne will no doubt be organizing it. RIP brutha. - Posted by: Myron May (friend /co-worker) on: May 27, 2014
