ERWINE MARIA PREVALNIG July 6, 1918 - May 5, 2014 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Erwine Prevalnig at Tuxedo Villa. Erwine was predeceased by her husband Walther in 1990 and her son Wally in 2001. She is survived and fondly remembered by her daughter Uta Lindgrin (Merv) and grandchildren Deborah Moore (Dave) and Sean Lindgrin; daughter Karin Boyd (Jamie) and grandchildren Andrea Boyd (Troy Barnard), Suzanne Boyd, Leanne Boyd (Jeff Sandelli), and Stephen Boyd (Aynsley Welsh); daughter-in-law Joan Miles (Bob) and grandson Brian Prevalnig (Heather); and great grandchildren Jordan, Jarred, Jace, Rhys and Rowan. Erwine was born in Innsbruck, Austria. She and Walther emigrated to Winnipeg with their young family in 1954. She was an active member of the Friends of Austria Winnipeg having served many years on the executive and as President. She also served as Honourary Consul of Austria in Winnipeg. A woman of many talents, Erwine possessed great charm, a delightful sense of humour, and was a constant proponent of the values of an active life style especially swimming and snowshoeing. Her grandchildren will remember her for the stories she loved to tell and her deep interest in their activities and achievements. A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at Tuxedo Villa and Dr. Al Schroeder for the wonderful care they provided for Erwine.
