NICOLA VADACCHINO Peacefully, but suddenly, Nicola, husband, father and grandfather passed away on June 4, 2014. Nicola was born in Cosenza, Italy on January 18, 1932. He came to Canada in 1960 to marry his only love Gina. They began their new life together in a new country by starting their family. He began working construction in 1960 and worked very hard to support his family until his retirement in 1992. He was also able to spend many hours in his garden which brought him peace and tranquility. His grandchildren, which were the loves of his life, gave him many years of happiness and enjoyment. He will be sadly missed by his entire family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gina; his sons Maurizio (Kelly) and Benedetto (Tracey); his daughter Emilia; his grandchildren Afton, Nicola, Ryley and Zoe; his brothers Mario and Domenico, and sister Carmela, along with many nieces and nephews back in Italy. He was predeceased by his brothers Giovanni, Antonio, and Peppino, as well as his sisters Maria Rosa and Giosina. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue with Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. with Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Waverley Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley Street. The family would like to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, Station 2, for the care and compassion they showed Nicola over the last four and a half years.
