RAYMOND MARK MARTEL After a long battle with illness, we announce the passing of Raymond Mark Martel on June 3, 2014 at the age of 75 years. His loving wife of over 40 years, Sonia was by his side, along with his son, Robert and daughter Kim. Raymond will also be fondly remembered by his two grandchildren, Kayla and Cody and great-grandson Odin. He is also survived by sisters Laurie Riel, Elsie Bessette and Rose Marie Johnston. He was predeceased by his mother and father Abraham and Philomeme Martel; brothers Steven, Wally, Stanley, Nelson and Allan Martel; two sisters Freda Wilson and Doris Rivers. He was an upholsterer at Regal Furniture for 45 years. Family and friends were his main focus and devoted many hours of helping others. He could fix, build and create anything you asked of him. Secondary to his family and friends, he loved hunting with his best buddies Bill, John and and Richard Hopps. Many thanks to Dr. Erwin Braun for his kindness, compassion and care, along with his staff at Rivergrove Medical Centre. A celebration of Raymond's life will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. 204-586-8044

  • Sonia, so sorry to learn of Raymond's passing. Though not much connection in our later life he was one of our favorite uncles when we were kids.
