HILL BYLHOLT It is with sadness we announce the passing of Hill, age 85, at Gimli Hospital on June 8, 2014. Born 1928 in the Netherlands, he spent the better part of his life living and dedicating his time and energy to various organizations in Gimli and Winnipeg. He has received numerous awards and accolades in recognition of his service to community. He will always be remembered for his love of knowing and helping people. Hill is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth and his sons Hank (Penny) and Eppo (Leah), and his six grandchildren, Cindy, Jennifer, Adam,Tyson, Catherine and Kristin and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., June 18 at Gilbart Funeral Home, 1st Avenue, Gimli, Manitoba. Immediately following, relatives and friends are welcome to join the family at the New Horizon Activity Center to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A special thank you to all the doctors who helped in his care. Also a special thank you to the nurses in Gimli Hospital who took such great care of him.

Liz and family, Hill made life better for many, many people in our community of Gimli. He was a very giving man who wanted to help as many people as he could. I had the pleasure of working with him and getting to know you both through all HIll's volunteer work with Heima er Best. I always used to tease him that he had more than a full time job volunteering. My deepest sympathies to you and your family, Thor, Linda and boys - Posted by: Linda STevens (Friend) on: Jun 15, 2014

I met Hill in 1979 through his involvement with his passion for the beautiful game, Soccer, (football) being the owner, coach, manager (yes Hill did everything as usual) Over the years we would bump into each other and exchange the changes in our lives. Then three years ago we met in Gimli and I was to find out that he was involved in everything as usual. I am just about to retire to Gimli and promised to join him on the Canada Day committee but unforunately we won't have that pleasure. Gimli will miss a kind, sweet man and a dear friend that could never say NO!! Our sincere condolences go out to Liz and the family. - Posted by: Dick & Pauline Derrett (Friends) on: Jun 11, 2014
