Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE (MARY) BEZDEK April 11, 1926 June 5, 2014 Marie (Mary) Bezdek passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Fred Douglas Personal Care Home at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish Mary's memory are her husband Zdenek; sister Anne; sons Emil (Linda), Tony (Ferne), Stan, Walter (Tracy); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Anna. In compliance with Mary's wishes a private family service has taken place which Rev. Fr. Gary Killen officiated. Our family would like to thank all the staff at Fred Douglas Personal Care Home for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. Cropo Funeral Chapel 204-586-8044

My heartfelt condolences to the "Bezdek boys" and families on the loss of your wife/mother/grandmother/sister. She was a wonderful lady who gave of herself to all who had the priviledge to know her. I have so many beautiful memories of our "Fatima" days and our little choir. Your mother was the one to always get the Czech hymns ready, whether it was for our Friday night choir practices, or for Mass on Sunday. She kept all of us in line and we had a lot of fun. One of my favorite memories of Mrs. Bezdek was how she explained where she lived on Stella. "You know, off 'Selkreeek' Street". To this day, I often pronounce it "Selkreeek" in fun, and it brings a smile to my face as I remember your mother. I was honoured to have your mother be my God-Mother for Confirmation. To have a strong woman like Mrs. Bezdek represent me was truly a blessing. Know that my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you, and your mother will always hold a special place in my heart.
